CROP TOPS + MAXI SKIRTS!

Wednesday, February 24, 2016

With Spring around the corner, I really want to inspire you all on exactly what to wear for the upcoming season. The best part..? You don't need to go and purchase new clothes, it's as easy as mix & matching, plus really utilizing the pieces that you already have in your closet. I for one, am a huge fan of long maxi skirts. They are so easy to throw on and they instantly dress up any top that your wearing. Here I am wearing a black chiffon maxi skirt. I love this type of material because it is lightweight and flowy, and it just makes me feel so girly! One thing to keep in mind though is if you're wearing a loose flowey skirt, try to keep the top fitted and structured. A loose top and a flowy skirt is unflattering and makes you look twice the size! Just think of it as a balance, fit on top and loose on the bottom, or vice versa. I went with this simple red crop top that I love. I've styled this one before, if your curious, you could see how HERE . I love the embellishments it has around the neckline, which gives it something extra and it eliminates you having to wear a necklace ;) Crop tops are awesome during Spring/Summer (year 'round in my book), they are pretty easy to style, especially in a solid color.

Now that you have those two pieces already in mind, let's talk outerwear! Here I went with a classic denim jacket. I really like the contrast it gives with the red crop top. Denim jackets are another great piece to have in your closet. Wether you decide to splurge or save on one, they will definitely last you a long time. Another staple to have is a pair of "trendy" sandals. It could be anything from fringe details, to lace straps, or even a stacked heel (there are many other styles as well!). For this look, I went with a flat sandal, that has some adorable fringe details in the front. I love this style! I've already worn them a couple times with some shorts, jeans, and even a midi dress! That's another thing to look for in a pair of shoes (sandals) ...versatility.

I hope this sparked some insight into your wardrobe and to let you know you don't need to spend so much $ in altering your closet for Spring.

What's your favorite piece for Spring?! Let me know your thoughts!

Spring 2016 inspo

Hi everyone! Hope you all had an amazing Valentine's day weekend! It was such a relaxing, yet quick weekend, like always! It's usually when we are enjoying ourselves the most, that the days just pass by so much quicker, right?! Well, I'm here today to maybe ease the pain of missing the weekend like I am right now lol. Sharing some Spring/Summer pieces today! I know we are still technically in the Winter season, but I'm already passed that, and I am so ready to welcome the Spring time. One of my favorite colors to wear during this time is blush, and to keep it in the same color scheme. Loving this light-weight blush trench and also thinking of getting that adorable pink mini purse! And the best part, it's also a cross body, best of both worlds! Another "trend" I am loving lately is off the shoulder tops, they are just so flattering on everyone, and your outfit looks effortless. I would definitely pair that light blue top with those adorable orange pom pom sandals, it will make an amazing contrast! Plus, how can you say NO to anything thay has pom-poms?! lol

SELF-LOVE IS THE BEST LOVE + VDAY INSPO

Wednesday, February 10, 2016

Hoping you all had an amazing weekend that just passed! Did you catch the Super bowl on Sunday? Well I did, and what I mean by the Superbowl, I mean the awesome commercials and the halftime show. LOL. I'll be honest,  I don't really care much for football, so truthfully I was only looking forward to the halftime show, which was great! Any performance that includes Beyonce is always a winner in my book. ;) Other than that, my weekend was pretty calm.

So today I want to talk to you about a subject that has been going around lately, and I feel that I need to project my opinion; what I am talking about is the topic on "self-love". What is "Self-love" exactly? It is precisely that easy (or difficult) as to loving yourself. It is a matter of truly recognizing who you are and accepting yourself as you are, unapologetically. I know for all of us (myself included), it is sometimes difficult to grasp that concept, per say, without adding someone else to that picture. Meaning that loving yourself feels better if someone else in your life does too. WRONG. As much as this is said, you HAVE to love yourself first before you allow anyone else to, it is essential. Loving yourself and being truly happy from the inside out is one of the most powerful feelings you can feel. You do not need the validation of others to feel worthy of love, because you know what? YOU have it within you to fulfill that hole. I do know that its difficult sometimes because of the world that we live in and the things that we see daily. For instance, having amazing skin, having fuller lips, being thicker, being skinnier, the list goes on and on; To really be intune with our most greatest potential at loving yourself you have to lower all these unrealistic expections and realize that you are enough, and that you do not need to alter anything to feel worthy of feeling better about yourself. Once you recognize this, it will only get better from there. Loving yourself is a day to day thing and a work in progress for all of us, but I can assure you, it is the best way to truly feel happy.

Thanks for reading :) I really want to know your take on this.
It is such a delicate topic, so I love reading different views on it.

Outfit details at the end.

Since Valentine's day is just around the corner, I loved incorporating light colors in this outfit. I decided to go with some light pink denim skinnies that I found at Marshalls! I totally love these are they fit so well ! I paired them with this simple gray top, I thought it was a nice contrast, and also a little change from the traditional red and white for Valentine's day. I added a bold statement necklace to really pull the look together and not make it seem so "BLAH". And of course, I had to wear one of my favorite shoes; these bow heels have made their appearance more often then I care to admit..LOL. I don't care, I love them!

SPRING IS CALLIN' FOR....PASTEL HUES

Wednesday, February 3, 2016

Happy Wednesday! And thanks for stopping by.

So Winter is slowly but surely making its exit, and Spring trends/ colors are making their grand entrance. Although, the weather where I live is so bi-polar, that sometimes I do not even know what to wear at times. It could be scorching hot outside one minute, then the next minute, I'm running to my house to change into some rainboots or something! LOL ;) Anyways, I've always been a huge fan of pastels and a light color palette overall. It's fresh and you could easily get away with matching an entire outfit if you stick to one light shade. For this outfit, I decided to incorporate white and different shades of pink. This plaid top is so versatile and flowey that it could easily be worn with some denim as shown here, shorts, or even a nice maxi skirt. The key is to stick to one shade, and you'll be fine. I decided to pair this top with white denim; although its easy to throw on a pair of blue jeans, a white pair just makes the pink hues of the top stand out even more. I would easily wear this outfit without the jacket, but this particular day it was kind of chilly outside, so it went perfect with the entire outfit. A moto jacket in a light pastel shade is a total staple in your closet ! I scored this one at JcPenney; I don't remember how much I paid, but I know it was a great deal! Also, if you opt for something that is more lightweight, you could always try a light chiffon cardigan or a long sleeveless vest in the same shade.

Let's move on; YES, these shoes make another appearance today lolll. I can't stop wearing them; they are so chic and so comfortable. I love that I don't have to worry if my feet will hurt after I wear them because the heel is SUPER comfortable and managable to walk in. And yes, I'm one of those girls that walk with a pair of sandals or flats in her bag when needed. As fabulous as it is to be in heels the whole day, lets be real....its really not sometimes; So I don't mind the extra baggage, my feet always thank me. LOL.

So you will be seeing a change of color here or there as the Spring/Summer is coming soon!
Let me know your favorite Spring trend/piece below...!
I'd love to know!
