FUNKSHION Fashion Week

Tuesday, March 24, 2015

Hi there !
So this past weekend was the kick off to Funkshion Fashion Week, in Miami Beach! What is Funkshion fashion week you might ask...? It is pretty similar to the well known shows we all have heard around the country (New York fashion week, Paris fashion week, etc). The only difference is that this is the MIAMI BEACH edition, which I think makes it much more special. Funkshion fashion week is a week long event showcasing emerging designers and their newest collection to the world! It is their chance to really bring in some Miami flavor and wow the media, influencers, and even potential buyers.

The festivities started this past Sunday at the Funkshion style village; which consisted of a spiffy little lounge, that was accompanied by a live DJ, cocktail reception, and drinks courtesy of Peroni. There, you had the chance to meet some of the designers of the night, mingle with the press, and snack on some popcorn while the rest of the night commenced. The spectacle of the night was all about the essence of Miami with Lilian Montoya swim wear. So many amazing swim suits for the Spring and Summer, and not to mention the beautiful runway models. It totally motivated me more to get ready for the Summer LOL ;) And of course, I had to share my outfit of the night ;)..I went pretty casual knowing it will be right on the beach ;)

Which event are you guys attending this week?
Hope you could attend and share with me. I'll also be attending today (Tuesday) and Thursday!

I've been obsessed with these sun glasses...can you tell...? ;)

Hi :) So happy it's finally Friday !!!!!! AND...happy 1st day of Spring. What better way to kick off this season then with a colorful and fun 'fit. I'm one that loves to rock bright colors already, but there's just something about wearing them during the Spring that feels so satisfying..LOL :) (maybe because Summer is soon too!). Anyways... my mom recently got me this top, and I have to say that I fell in love with it. I enjoyed the print and the way this top was cut, which kinda looks like a handkerchief...right?! It's funny because I know if I see this top in store I wouldn't purchase it at all, but I really like how it looks on! Thanks Mom! ;) I decided to pair it with some white denim; which I love these by the way!  They have some lace trimming details around the top which is such a nice touch. I feel that the white denim truly made this top stand out even more. I finished it with these blue chunky heels that have been in my closet for god knows how long, so I was glad that I found a way to wear them out ! :)

Once Upon A Dream...Spring Pastels

Thursday, March 12, 2015

So these past couple of days/weeks have been really special and eye-opening for me. I've been doing some serious reflecting and just trying to take everything day by day on where I eventually want to be in life and what I want to do; and quite frankly, I honestly still have no idea. The Leo in me just wants to take a leap of faith, find another job, start blogging full time and wait for a miracle to happen. I am someone that cannot just settle with what I am doing now, I'm always thinking, "ok now what"?...but sometimes those thoughts seem to be on impulse, in the moment, when I'm constantly over thinking or over analyzing things. I sometimes even compare myself to others (when I know I shouldn't). I feel that no mater how hard I try, it's inevitable sometimes.  However, we are all one-in-a-million, and have various ways of expressing ourselves and how we do things, and timing is definitely different for everyone (REMEMBER that!). For instance, I have this thing I do...I BLOG!; and ever since I started, I feel like my style has evolved though out this whole "journey" (or whatever this is lol) and even more as a person. It makes me feel whole, and I get so excited when I find things to share with you guys on here. It felt strange writing that, but it's true.

Also, trusting your gut and instinct could do you no wrong. What I am trying to say is that by doing what you love and what you believe in could present you with great opportunities. I am so thankful that this blog has led me to meet so many inspiring bloggers and even some I could now call genuinely good friends. I know I'm not the only one that is still trying to pursue their dreams and make their mark in this world; I could only just continue doing what I think is right and eventually the dots will connect...

These photos bring me so much happiness when I see them because they really capture the essence of who I am....and maybe even you as well...ambitious, gentle, go-getter, femininity... engulfed in this crazy ride we call life (well, in this case, somewhere "deep inside" a forest..LOL!)

I went for a soft and feminine look for this outfit. I love this pleated maxi skirt, especially in this blush color. The best part is that it is really light-weight and it is a great length that doesn't drag on the floor (which I love because I dislike that!). I paired it with this crochet cropped top, which is one of my favorites. Blush and white truly go great together; I also kept it simple with just statement necklace and a watch...

CHEERS, its almost FRIDAY!!!

I've been loving this lip color lately ! Dark hues are so flattering.

Hi everyone, Happy Friday..the weekend is finally here again.
So as much as I LOVE to dress up and try different things and to try to switch it up and away from my comfort zone....I always seem to come back to the classics. That is, your simple tee, jeans or leggings and giving the whole outfit some personality with the right accessories. This type of outfit is essential this time of the year. Ok, I'm kidding, it is appropriate all year round to be honest lol. I love the effortless look, while still feeling and looking put together. Graphic tee's are the best; I love ones that are printed with cute little sayings like this one that I'm wearing. I recently took a trip to Kohl's and I found so many cute and affordable pieces...I will be sharing with you all in the upcoming weeks.

'Til then..I hope you have a great weekend, and thank you for reading :)
