In my Favorite over-alls

Wednesday, May 25, 2016

What's up guys! Happy Wednesday :)
Ok, so this has to be one of my absolute favorite looks to date! A pair of overalls are so fun to style because the possibilities are endless! From the moment I saw it, I knew I wanted to style it up with an off the shoulder top! They are so "on trend" these days, especially for the Summer time! I love this cobalt blue one with the crochet detailing, it gives the outfit such a girly vibe. I also envisioned this with a pair of leopard pumps, so that's what I went with here! :) The contrast of the blue and the leopard is so fresh and it really makes the white denim overalls pop. I know denim overalls are all the rage, but I really like these white ones;  its so sophisticated with a pair of pumps. Not to mention, overalls are really flattering on because they accentuate your best features. I love these in particular because they are a "skinny jean" overalls & they are much easier to wear than bootcut or flared (especially if you want to wear some fabulous pumps!) Another aspect that I love about the overalls is that it has pockets everywhere! You could totally pull off a casual look with a crop top and a pair of lace up flats (which is what I'll probably wear it with next!). I also added a statement necklace to complete the look. Never be afraid to wear bright colors together, they work so well and could really jazz up your outfit! Also, this outfit is perfect for memorial day weekend that is coming up & also some early inspiration for the 4th of July. <3

Thanks so much for stopping by! :)
I hope you enjoy this look! Check out the details below.

GIVE YOUR WARDROBE THE "MAXI"-MUM THIS SPRING

Wednesday, May 18, 2016

If there's one article of clothing that I'd wear over and over during the Spring (or any season really) , it would have to be the quintessental maxi dress. It's one of those pieces that are never difficult to style because they are so easy to wear. Dress it up with a jacket and some wedges, or dress it down with some flat sandals and a cute floppy hat! However you decide to wear it, you will ALWAYS look put together (or giving off the vibe that you spent almost 50 hours getting ready, when it only took you 10 mins, trust me!) When you shop for them, keep in mind these three key points: cut, length, and material. First, the cut just simply means that the dress could be strapless, halter, thin straps, off the shoulder, etc. I personally love halter and off the shoulder! Next, when you're trying one on, always look at the length, some could be way too long or short or ankle length (which sometimes could have an awkward fit so be careful lol) . Finally, it comes down to the material; Try to gravitate toward (maxi) dresses that are either rayon (stretchy material) or chiffon. I have noticed that these types of material will last you a long time, so in some cases, you don't have to feel guilty if you decide to splurge on one because you know it'll last you a very long time. Another great option to look for is for a quirky print (solids are nice, but a fun print takes it to another level of fabulous). For instance, the one I am wearing here is a "subtle" tribal print. What I mean by "subtle" is that its not a loud print, BUT, its not boring either. Which reminds me of this dress that I absolutely adore, check it out if you can !

DENIM FOR DAYS

Wednesday, May 11, 2016

It's Wednesday!!! I really hope you had a great Mother's day this past weekend. Although I feel "Mother's Day" shouldn't be celebrated only one day, it should be demonstrated EVERY SINGLE DAY! I had a great Mother's Day with my mom; We had a beach day and I took her to the spa in Miami Beach! She enjoyed every minute of it; it was a great day :) I honestly want to go back this upcoming weekend; it was THAT good ;)

So let's jump right into this look. I'm one that isn't too fond of "matchy matchy" outfits, but the "denim on denim" trend just WORKS. It's one of those outfits that you could just "throw on" and your good to go. I would definitely wear this with a pair of nude flats , but I decided on these killer laced up heels! They are a current favorite in my closet by the way :) They made their first appearance here if you want to check that out! I also envision this outfit with a pair of leopard pumps; so fabulous ! Furthemore, when wearing "denim on denim", it's a good idea to stick to the same shades of denim. Here I am wearing a light shade pair of jeans, which went perfectly with this chambray top! Darker shades in both the top and the bottoms would look so great as well. Another aspect is the distressed details of the jeans; it really gives the entire outfit some character and is far from boring ;) All in all, I love this combination, and it looks great on everyone !

You could also catch another "denim" statement in this post here ...but this time, it was a dress! :)

Thanks for stopping by.

A SWEET TREAT: CHOCOLATE-DIPPED PINEAPPLES

Monday, May 9, 2016
If it was up to me, I'd dip everything in chocolate. Yeah. I'm a chocoholic. ;) Lol. And I eat way too much chocolate than I care to admit, but hey, whatever (let me live!). I thought this would be a quick and easy treat just in time for Mother's day (or whenever you want to indulge!)

So this is what I came up with:

CHOCOLATE DIPPED PINEAPPLES

What you'll need:

-Fresh sliced pineapple
-Cute cookie cutters (got mine at Target! Came in a set of 3)
-Semi-sweet chocolate chips (morsels)
-Half and Half (if you're not sure what this is,
it's next to the milk in the dairy section haha)
-Wooden Spoon
-Wax Paper

Steps!

1. First, strip your pineapple off its shell and cut it vertically into even slices (remember, you want them big enough to use the cookie cutter!) You could also buy pre-sliced pineapple (fruit) to save time, if you don't want to be cutting fruit. Which I should've done, but whatevs! ;)

2. Put your slices on a plate and begin cutting out pieces with the 'cookie cutter' of your choice (This step is totally optional, but I just thought it was super adorable; you could also just cut them evenly into smaller slices that are easy to dip too!

3. Now for the chocolate mixture (fondue). Pre-heat your stove to low-medium heat and add 1 cup of your "half and half". Let it simmer for 4-5 mins.

4. Next, add your chocolate chips! And continue to stir until the chips melt in the 'half and half' mixture. The consistancy should be like a "soup" at first!

(tip: The more 'half and half' you add, the thinner the mixture, if you add less, its thicker!)

5. When you're sure the chocolate chips have melted, turn off the heat! Remember, You don't want them to burn, so if you smell something burning, you know you left it for too long. LOL.

6. Pour mixture into ceramic bowl to keep it warm, and let it sit for at least 8-10 mins so it gets slightly thick. Thick enough to stay on your pineapple when you dip (or whatever fruit/treat your heart desires!).

7. Dip yo pineapples! When you do, put them on a piece of wax paper and refrigerate for about 30 minutes (I usually do an hour or more for the chocolate to become a hard shell, its worth it!)

8. You're done! Enjoy.

Super easy to make!

Let me know if you try this out!
I would love to know your outcome :)
