REFLECTING IN CHAMBRAY

Wednesday, December 30, 2015

Another year gone, and another opportunity to start fresh once more. In other words, "to get it right", as least, what is right for you. We all have dreams, aspirations, and goals that we want to accomplish, and the start of a new year should be enough motivation. Be the best version of yourself; get out there and make things happen. Make yourself proud; feel alive. Try to inspire others, make 2016 the best year yet.

This year has really been a turning point for me. I have learned and grown so much; I finally feel that I am in the right path in life so far, and it feels pretty damn good. I am so grateful for all of the amazing people that I have met this year and those that I can truly call my friends. I would've never guessed I would be where I am right now at this point in my life if you would've asked me 2-3 years ago, I just know that I am where I'm meant to be and I cannot wait for what the future brings; and of course to share it with you all. :)

With that being said, I want to leave you with some reflections from this past year to bring in with you to the new year. Life is a constant work in progress so I hope these speak to you in some way.

1. Leave your past, yep you guessed it...IN THE PAST. It does not need to follow you to ring in the new year.

2. Believe in yourself; believe that you are capable of anything and everything that you want to acheive.

3. Be fearless; trust me, once you overcome whatever your fears are, you will feel powerful.

4. Do not compare yourself to others. We are all meant for something great, and our paths are all being carved out differently.

5. Be kind to others. Something so simple can make all the difference.

6. Let go of negative energy and surround yourself with people/things that make you happy.

7. Stay humble; humility makes a person beautiful; never forget who you are/were.

8. DO what makes you happy; you will question yourself on why you ever lived any other way.

Thank you for reading! Wishing you and your family a happy and prosperous
new year, 2016! Let's make it count (insert dancing girl emoji here lol)

So let me tell you, I have always been fond of the denim trend, or should I say, chambray. I feel like you could wear it year 'round and get away with it. I can't wait to wear this little number again. What I love about it the most is that it cinches and you could tie it around your waist which makes the dress flattering on anyone. I paired with one of my favorite pair of booties at the moment. Oh! I also attempted this "top knot" hairstyle, it came out pretty decent, right?!
Leave me your thoughts below. 'til next post.
xx

A little festive for the Holidays..

Wednesday, December 23, 2015

It's Christmas time you guys! Can you believe it?! I cannot wait for Christmas eve tomorrow! My family and I are actually driving up to Naples to spend Christmas Eve with my Aunt & Uncle + my cousins. I'm pretty excited because I have not seen them in a long time; so I'll be sure to snap tomorrow so you all can follow along (snapchat:Estephanie820) . During this time of the year, I love reflecting on things that I could remember from this year that have really changed me as a person altogether. The good, the bad, the amazing...EVERYTHING. Another year has practically gone by before our eyes; I encourage you to reflect back as well. Feel good about your accomplishments, be thankful for your family and friends, because you know what, life is PRETTY DAMN GOOD!

Also, I am so so excited for what 2016 has in store, and I cannot wait to share my experiences with you all. Definitely some traveling, so there's a hint. ;) Also I know I write this numerous of times but thank you so much for stopping by missEstephanie.com. You guys have truly made and shaped it into what it is today and I cannot be more grateful. I honestly don't know what I was doing before starting this blog; I'm so thankful !

Love you all ! <3

On another note, this has been one of my favorite shoots to date; SO thankful for my bf being so enthusiastic and supportive, you're the BEST <3 We shot these around downtown Ft. Lauderdale (favorite area). It is always so peaceful and so great to just have time to yourself or in my case, take photos. There's also a really yummy restaurant called "The Downtowner" ...I totally recommend it. Ok enough about that lol...keep scrolling for the outfit details. ;)

I was SO happy when I saw this giant Christmas tree; of course I had to take some photos with it. ;) I went with this super casual swing dress from Go Jane . I am obsessed with it, especially in this awesome red/burgundy color. Also, one thing that totally sold me on this dress is the shoulder cut outs, I love simple little details like this, so chic.

I was initially going to pair this dress with some killer OTK boots but I'll be real, I was too damn tired lol. Instead, I paired it with my favorite gladiator sandals that instantly dress up any outfit. I love these! I also have a brown pair, they are the best. I also feel that I'm lucky to live in Miami because where else can I pull off this look without freezing to death. LOL

Also, I've been into hats lately, and I adore this one that I am wearing here. I love how it is structured and it differs from your usual floppy hat.

One of my favorite bags is this Kate Spade one. I love that you could put it over your shoulder, and it also has the strap to act as a crossbody as well, which is a plus in my book.

I think people underestimate Ft. Lauderdale; They have really amazing views and little places where you could just go sit and relax. My bf and I come here ALL the time.

Thanks again for stopping by <3

HOLI-DAZEE

Wednesday, December 16, 2015

Hi guys! Happy Wednesday.
So I think that this week in particular is the craziest...one week before Christmas. Everyone is still Christmas shopping, making lines to purchase gifts, or still picking out a Christmas tree (which I think you are SUPER late if you still are now, lol.) Me in particular, I am over the whole hype of "Christmas shopping" it really takes away the true purpose of Christmas and has just turned it into a commercial holiday these days. Oh well, that's the power of marketing for you. ;) Nonetheless, I am still excited to celebrate it alongside my family and my closest friends. It is always the happiest time of the year. Also, this upcoming Thursday, my bf and I make two years of being together (I salute him for putting up with me LOL). I can't believe it's going to be two years already; time really does pass us by so quickly. It makes me want to savor the special moments that much longer. So with that, I must tell you to just live in the moment, tell the person that you care about that you love them, and chase your dreams. :)

Thank you so much for reading, I appreciate you! Outfit details are at the bottom of the post and below some of the photos. I think I like it this way better, you get to see exactly what I am talking about at the moment, what do you think? Let me know below!

<3

I love casual outfits. It is definitely my go-to. Super easy to style and you still look put together. Here you could see I paired this leopard silk top with some faux leather leggings. This combo is very versatile. You could dress it up with some spiffy peep-toe booties, or dress it down with some sandals like how I did here. By the way, I am obessesed with these sandals, they feature such a nice snake print that went really well with the leopard print. Do you want to know the best part? I got them on sale for an awesome price! ;)

I also added this light-weight white cardigan for some contrast and it's definitely functional for when it's cold outside (I wouldn't know though, it hasn't been cold in Miami, ugh). I love pairing loud prints with subtle staples as cardigans, it always works.

I also threw on some red lipstick, which I think went great with this leopard top. Wearing red lipstick is something so simple that could really transform your whole outfit. Yeah, it's that powerful.

Also, I am sure you guys have seen this black tote bag in multiple posts, I LOVE it. It is my go-to bag + it's the perfect size. I've had it for almost a year now and it is still in awesome condition. It's funny, this bag was only $34 and I prefer it more sometimes than my more expensive bags, how ironic.

KEEPING IT SIMPLE

Wednesday, December 9, 2015

Hi there and welcome back to my blog!
At this point, we are well underway for the Holidays; Christmas trees to be decorated, presents to be wrapped and the ongoing christmas shopping. This is one of my favorite times of the year as it is to many; I love getting together with family, making a special dinner, or exchaging gifts. Although, I must say it's been kind of difficult to keep this up with all of horrific events that have been happening lately (almost daily!). With the crisis that happened in Paris and the most recent one that happened here in my own city during Art Basel, which is always filled with a tumult of people. It just makes me sad that we have to live more cautiously these days, and some, maybe even be living in fear. That the acts of some derranged people can affect us all and make such a strong impact. That's why I sometimes feel a little guilty about blogging about some silly little frivolous topic as an outfit of the day. But I just think to myself, I do it because I love it, not because I do not care about what is happening daily in the world.

With that being said, I just want to leave you all with a few tips to stay safe and maybe what to do in case during an "uncalled for" event. I feel like I should share, so here they are:

1. Always let someone you know and trust where you're going specifically. God forbid something happens, but its always good for someone close to you to know.
2. Have someone's number written on a notepad and/or piece of paper and always keep it in your purse. I'm sure not all of us know our important phone numbers by memory, so this is a good way to get ahold of someone if your phone happens to die.
3. During the Holiday season, try not to go back to your car and leave your purchases, you never know who is watching you. Just take them all when you are ready to leave. (Honestly, I rather carry all my bags even if they are heavy.)
4. In a work setting, make sure you know where all of your emergenct exits are; it may sound silly now, but I'm sure we never really think of that up until something happens!
5. Carry pepper spray, and put it somewhere you could easily reach for it when needed. Men or Women..who cares!

Hopefully this provides some insight for you all.
Thanks for stopping by. :)
I have the outfit details at the end
(because I HAD to) ;)

OBSESSED would be an understatement of how much I love these OTK boots. ;)

This is one of my favorite scarfs! I've had it since last year; I just love the neon and leopard print together, it makes an outfit much more festive. Oh, I've also been crazy about this camel purse, and I'm quite proud of it actually. It's vintage Coach, and I scored it on Poshmark for a steal! If you're on poshmark, follow my closet: Estephanie90 . I am a total poshaholic these days. LOL.

Dark wash denim makes any outfit look polished and effortless, even an outfit as simple as this. I just LOVE them.
