SELF-LOVE IS THE BEST LOVE + VDAY INSPO

Hoping you all had an amazing weekend that just passed! Did you catch the Super bowl on Sunday? Well I did, and what I mean by the Superbowl, I mean the awesome commercials and the halftime show. LOL. I'll be honest,  I don't really care much for football, so truthfully I was only looking forward to the halftime show, which was great! Any performance that includes Beyonce is always a winner in my book. ;) Other than that, my weekend was pretty calm.

So today I want to talk to you about a subject that has been going around lately, and I feel that I need to project my opinion; what I am talking about is the topic on "self-love". What is "Self-love" exactly? It is precisely that easy (or difficult) as to loving yourself. It is a matter of truly recognizing who you are and accepting yourself as you are, unapologetically. I know for all of us (myself included), it is sometimes difficult to grasp that concept, per say, without adding someone else to that picture. Meaning that loving yourself feels better if someone else in your life does too. WRONG. As much as this is said, you HAVE to love yourself first before you allow anyone else to, it is essential. Loving yourself and being truly happy from the inside out is one of the most powerful feelings you can feel. You do not need the validation of others to feel worthy of love, because you know what? YOU have it within you to fulfill that hole. I do know that its difficult sometimes because of the world that we live in and the things that we see daily. For instance, having amazing skin, having fuller lips, being thicker, being skinnier, the list goes on and on; To really be intune with our most greatest potential at loving yourself you have to lower all these unrealistic expections and realize that you are enough, and that you do not need to alter anything to feel worthy of feeling better about yourself. Once you recognize this, it will only get better from there. Loving yourself is a day to day thing and a work in progress for all of us, but I can assure you, it is the best way to truly feel happy.

Thanks for reading :) I really want to know your take on this.
It is such a delicate topic, so I love reading different views on it.

Outfit details at the end.

Since Valentine's day is just around the corner, I loved incorporating light colors in this outfit. I decided to go with some light pink denim skinnies that I found at Marshalls! I totally love these are they fit so well ! I paired them with this simple gray top, I thought it was a nice contrast, and also a little change from the traditional red and white for Valentine's day. I added a bold statement necklace to really pull the look together and not make it seem so "BLAH". And of course, I had to wear one of my favorite shoes; these bow heels have made their appearance more often then I care to admit..LOL. I don't care, I love them!
