Since Valentine's Day is coming up soon (next week to be exact), I wanted to share an easy way to make Valentine's Day themed cupcakes! Everytime there's a holiday coming up, I love baking cakes or cupcakes and then decorate them :) This is a great stress reliever for me, and it's also fun to share if you have small children because it's very hands on; so it'll keep them busy :) There's tons of different ways to decorate them but I liked it this way because it was pretty quick and easy. I love baking but I don't want to spend more than one hour prepping things lol.
So here's how I make them! I'm listing the steps and everything I use within the post and at the end! xo
Valentine's Day Themed Cupcakes!
What you'll need:
- 1 box of Cake/Cupcake Mix - I love using the Funfetti one, its so yummy!
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup of oil (I use canola oil)
-Mixing bowl
-Spatula and /or portable mixer
-Cupcake mold tray (or any oven-safe tray)
-Colored frosting
-Any type of embellishments /toppers
(I used a cupcake decorating kit I found at homegoods!)
-Gel icing pen (makes it easy if you want to make lettering)
How to make:
**Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees first!**
1. Add the cake mix, eggs, water, and oil into bowl to mix.
2. Use spatula (or whisk) to fold and mix; I recommend using a portable hand mixer. Fast and easy to use!
3. After the batter is smooth and smelling amazing..set it aside!
4. Take your cupcake mold or tray and assemble the cupcake paper cups in the mold!
5. Use a spoon or ice cream scoop and scoop the prepped cake mix into each of the paper cups
6. After that's done, insert them into the oven for about 25-30 minutes.
7. Check around 20 minutes and see how they are doing or set a timer on your phone!
8. After 30 minutes have passed, carefully take them out of the oven and let them cool for about 10 minutes.
9. Now they should be cooled down enough to start decorating them!
