A SWEET TREAT: CHOCOLATE-DIPPED PINEAPPLES

Monday, May 9, 2016
If it was up to me, I'd dip everything in chocolate. Yeah. I'm a chocoholic. ;) Lol. And I eat way too much chocolate than I care to admit, but hey, whatever (let me live!). I thought this would be a quick and easy treat just in time for Mother's day (or whenever you want to indulge!)

So this is what I came up with:

CHOCOLATE DIPPED PINEAPPLES

What you'll need:

-Fresh sliced pineapple
-Cute cookie cutters (got mine at Target! Came in a set of 3)
-Semi-sweet chocolate chips (morsels)
-Half and Half (if you're not sure what this is,
it's next to the milk in the dairy section haha)
-Wooden Spoon
-Wax Paper

Steps!

1. First, strip your pineapple off its shell and cut it vertically into even slices (remember, you want them big enough to use the cookie cutter!) You could also buy pre-sliced pineapple (fruit) to save time, if you don't want to be cutting fruit. Which I should've done, but whatevs! ;)

2. Put your slices on a plate and begin cutting out pieces with the 'cookie cutter' of your choice (This step is totally optional, but I just thought it was super adorable; you could also just cut them evenly into smaller slices that are easy to dip too!

3. Now for the chocolate mixture (fondue). Pre-heat your stove to low-medium heat and add 1 cup of your "half and half". Let it simmer for 4-5 mins.

4. Next, add your chocolate chips! And continue to stir until the chips melt in the 'half and half' mixture. The consistancy should be like a "soup" at first!

(tip: The more 'half and half' you add, the thinner the mixture, if you add less, its thicker!)

5. When you're sure the chocolate chips have melted, turn off the heat! Remember, You don't want them to burn, so if you smell something burning, you know you left it for too long. LOL.

6. Pour mixture into ceramic bowl to keep it warm, and let it sit for at least 8-10 mins so it gets slightly thick. Thick enough to stay on your pineapple when you dip (or whatever fruit/treat your heart desires!).

7. Dip yo pineapples! When you do, put them on a piece of wax paper and refrigerate for about 30 minutes (I usually do an hour or more for the chocolate to become a hard shell, its worth it!)

8. You're done! Enjoy.

Super easy to make!

Let me know if you try this out!
I would love to know your outcome :)
