Ditch your skinny jeans & flare it up

Wednesday, June 29, 2016

I'm sure by now you know that the 90's and all the old-school trends are pretty popular these days, and I think they are here to stay for a while, especially during the Summer. This reminds me when I was younger (think Lisa Frank days, slambooks, and AOL) and would only wear...
"exercise" pants (as in those pants you would sometimes match your shirt with...uhh yea lol).  I didn't own a pair of jeans! And chances are, if I did, they would've been buried somewhere far away in my dresser. Let's just say I was carefree and just wanted to be comfortable all the time. Absolutely no one could've changed my mind about wearing them. I always thought they were manly and just plain uncomfortable. Fast forward almost 15 years later and jeans are what I wear almost everyday, how ironic! lol. Not sure how my wardrobe can function without a pair, it's funny how things change over a period of time in your life. You grow and your style evolves, its just amazing.

Anyways, one style of jeans that you could totally rock this Summer is the bell-bottom jeans (Or "flare" jeans, whichever you prefer). I know, you're probably thinking.."Who wears those anymore"?! Well I am here to tell you that they are very easy to style and you could definitely pull it off; regardless of your body shape. They are flattering and I know that anyone could rock them.

Here are some ways to own and #Slay the bell-bottoms OOTD:

- Look for a pair that are high-waisted (Mine are!). It instantly makes you look taller and slimmer.  These are SO SO flattering on, and they "conceal" any problem areas when you wear them (UM, yes!)

- Wear them with a flowy top with delicate details. This is a great way to dress them up without trying so hard. Chic & effortless (that's the motto!).

- Add a pair of wedges. They are the perfect shoe to wear with flared jeans, it doesn't let the jeans drag on the floor when your walking and they look cute! (Style tip: Find a pair with a wedge print. It gives the outfit an extra fab touch!)

- ACCESSORIZE! here I'm wearing a pretty bold statement necklace over the lace top, but hey! It works! Never be afraid to experiment with accessories, they can really make your outfit look much more special.

What's your take on the bell-bottoms "trend"? Let me know below!
