So I'm continuing the New York adventures today. So before we went on this trip, I kept a folder on instagram of all the fab food spots I wanted to try, and today, I'm sharing a really special one...it's called Scriptum Brooklyn and it's right in the area called Bushwick in Brooklyn! Their specialty is italian food, but omg, their brunch menu is out of this world! I had a photo saved of their french toast on my phone because I already knew I wanted to try it! It definitely did not disapppoint. :) It was delicious. Not only was the food amazing, but the staff was what made everything special. They were warm and welcoming and happy to answer any of our questions. Also, their hours are very unique because they are only opened for dinner during the week (M-F 5:30p-10:30p) and brunch on the weekend (Sat-Sun 11a-3:30p).
We went on a Saturday and made a reservation for 12p since they opened at 11a. This time was a great time to go because we were basically alone inside the restaurant. So we had the luxury to take our time and enjoy the ambiance....and take all the photos we wanted ;) lol. We sat around the lounge area which is absolutely beautiful, complete with a faux fireplace..which was so cute! Also, the way the entire restaurant was designed and painted really gives off a relaxing vibe and takes you back to another era. They also have a huge seating area in the back portion of the restaurant for bigger parties, which was so pretty. I can't wait to go back and try their dinner menu and enjoy the outside area that they are currently building and remodeling.
Ok, so my mom and I ended up getting the SB french toast and the Saint Germain blueberry pancakes. Both very reasonable priced and delicious. I'm still thinking about those pancakes!
Saint Germain blueberry pancakes - $11.50
Too good!! On top is a lemon-basil sorbet. It was delicious!!!!
Can't wait to go back.
Isn't this space dreamy?! Looks like a literal painting :)
SB french toast - $12.50
Its covered with almonds, pecans, pear, ginger confectture, and its accompanied with a side of chocolate icecream. The icecream is amazing. I really enjoyed this :)
This is the area where we sat. So pretty!
This is one of the details that really stood out to me and thought it was so unique. They bring your check in a little booklet, where you write about your experience and how the food was! It's filled with heart-warming notes from people all over the world that have come to their restaurant. I thought that was so special and have never seen that before :) !!
I had told the staff that it was my mom's birthday that day so they surprised her with a yummy dessert and they sang her happy Birthday. She was so surprised that she cried. LOL. Such a great memory to have now. Thank you Scriptum for making this day so special for my mom and I :)
