7 ways to "jumpstart" your summer

Happy Wednesday! Since we just started Summer this week, I thought it would be fun to highlight some great ways to fully take advantage of your Summer time / vacation. Great options for the entire family, or if you just want to treat yourself. ;)

ORLANDO: TOP 5 PLACES TO VISIT

Hi! I hope you all had a great weekend! :) Also, it just occured to me that next week is already November! I cannoy believe that in two months we will be in 2016, it blows my mind sometimes. Anyways, this past weekend I ventured up to Orlando to go to Universal's Halloween Horror nights. I haven't gone in five years so I was pretty excited! I had a great time, I wish we would've stayed until Monday ;) . So during my stay, my boyfriend and I were focused on Horror nights on Saturday, so we found a couple other things to do as well, and I wanted to share with you guys! Hopefully on your next trip to Orlando, you'll keep these choices in mind. So here are the top 5 things that I think are worth checking out in Orlando.

Let's get started!

1. Ripleys: Believe it or Not Museum

This place is pretty well known as there is a location in New York as well. It was my first time visiting this past weekend, and I loved it. The entire "house" feels like a fun house. You'll get to experience some interesting pieces of art, bizarre sculptures (they have actual shrunken human heads on display!) and hands on activities. I also enjoyed the history behind Ripley's and its originator, Robert Ripley. They have great videos all over the house explaining briefly how he became a household name and how Ripley's Believe it or Not got where it is today. It was great, and it's definitely somewhere fun to visit in Orlando! Admission is $20 in person, but you could save $ by ordering online ! Each ticket will come out to $16 ! ;)

2. The "Orlando Eye"

I was pleasantly surprised when I came upon this. I didn't even know Orlando had one, and its definitely a site to see! Luckily, this beauty was literally right across the street from our hotel room, so I had that view the whole weekend...so pretty ! While we were there, it was not accessible to ride o (I guess it was going through some maintenance) but admission is $25 per person. Furthermore, in this same area, there is also a Madame Tussaud's wax museum and a mini sea aquarium. It's a perfect way to spend your day as there are so many things to do.

3. Universal Orlando Theme Parks

It is not a trip to Orlando, FL if you do not visit one of their well-known attraction theme parks! I have visited many times, but I can never get enough! This past weekend I went to Universal Studios for Halloween Horror Nights! Every year they transform Universal studios into the ultimate Halloween experience. This year there was a total of nine haunted houses, featuring some infamous characters such as Freddy VS. Jason, The Purge, Insidious, and The Walking Dead! I can't even begin to explain..LOL. The Freddy vs. Jason house was the one that scared me the most..overall, its all in good fun. They also have "scare zones" all around the park where people actually come up to and try to give you a scare; it is really intense; not sure if its for everyone. haha. 

Other than that, one of the main reasons I love going is to visit The wizarding world of Harry Potter. It's likes your transported into another world. For the Harry Potter fanatic, it is awesome !
Here I am headed to the "Ministry of Magic". ;)

4. Kissimmee Go-Karts

      

I love visiting here because you could easily spend the whole day since there are many activities. This place is complete with go-kart riding (the best part), a fully-equipped arcade inside and they even have a spot where some baby alligators reside! You could even feed them; kind of random (LOL) but it's a great expeience. All the attractions are purchased separately when you arrive; However, my bf and I found a groupon for $27 and everything was included for two people! This deal is usually offered periodically, so make sure you check groupon.com before you plan your visit. :)

5. WAWA

This must be the most unexpected place to visit in Orlando, but I HAVE to mention it. When you come to Orlando, you MUST visit WAWA food/gas station. A gas station you may think.? LOL. It is basically your one stop shop to eat a fresh meal, get some snacks, and put gas in your car, all in one ! My boyfriend and I went back like four times because we couldn't stay away, it is just that good loll. His favorite part was a "beer cooler" that they had in the back. It was literally a walk-in freezer full of beer, he was just in awe haha :) . Also, the food is delicious; I had the best panini there (oven roasted turkey, swiss cheese and honey mustard..YUM!) I'm sad I didn't take a photo of it, but you could check out their menu HERE . Even the simplest little snacks are fresh; mini to-go sandwiches, yummy salads, etc. Then for lunch, I had their burrito bowl, which was sooo good too. The coolest part, you order on a touch-screen menu and you could customize your order as well. I am pretty sad Miami doesn't have one, hopefully they will in the future ;)

BEING TOURISTY IN MIAMI

Happy Wednesday! 

The days seem to be passing by quicker than usual these days, right?! I mean we are almost in August...which means it is almost Fall time again! Its crazy to me to think that 2015 is almost over and soon we'll be starting a whole new 365 day chapter! Anyways, I wanted to talk to you guys about where I reside in Florida. Miami is pretty much known for its beaches (aka South Beach), its eclectic groups of people, and some pretty awesome food! Then there's the usual sights to see such as Wynwood, Downtown Miami, and the Versace Mansion. Do not get me wrong, I love visiting these places as much as the next person but there is so much more to see in South Florida, I promise! Just heading a little bit more south is an area called "Little Havana". It is known for its traditional Cuban culture, robust street life, culture influenced activities, and amazing food! The day I shot these photos, I was pleasantly surprised to see so many tourists everywhere. Taking in the ambiance, shooting photos, lining up at the ever popular ice cream shop, Azucar. They have so many ice cream flavors, it is crazy! I think that when people set their trips to come and visit Miami, this area is overlooked because it is not as known as our other famous sights. SO, if you ever plan a trip to Miami, do not forget to stop by and experience it for yourself. 

Here are five sights to see/things to do in Little Havana:

1. The Tower theater: One of our oldest landmarks in South Florida. You could watch unique independent films here and they also host exibits and educational programs too.

2. Experince the Big Bus Miami tours! I have yet to try this, but it looks like too much fun. You could catch one in Little Havana and it takes you all around Miami's iconic landmarks. Not just for the tourists...locals too ! ;) lol

3. Little Havana "Walk of Fame" ; reminiscent to the familiar stars in Los Angeles, CA; here you get to see a plethora of them honoring and celebrating the accomplishments of famous latin arists & organizations.

4. Azucar Ice Cream Shop: I already mentioned this, so you know it is so worth the trip! They offer "homemade Cuban ice cream" and they have so many flavors to choose from! Some are even named after famous artists and well-known cuban dishes.

5. Domino Park: This is a major landmark in 8th street (aka Calle Ocho). Here you will find that it will always be full with neighborhood domino players that have "mastered" the art of playing dominos. There are also nearby shops and restaurants too, and its very picturesque (photo-op moment)!

This has been my uniform lately; airy blouses and a good pair of shorts! This day was especially hot so I was glad that I had the idea of picking up my hair (which I never do, only at home when I'm being lazy).

2 For 1

 Hi !
Isn't it crazy how quickly the weekend flies by?! It's already Monday again. Which means that Halloween is around the corner...I can't wait ! LOL :) It also makes me anticipate Thanksgiving and Xmas! Ok, let's get down to business ;) I tend to go off topic a lot if you haven't noticed by now haha. I am absolutely loving this outfit; I feel that it is by far my favorite outfit EVER (until I start drooling over something else). I love printed tees like this, it truly brings out the inner fashionista in me. When I first spotted it online, I totally had to purchase it. It's so cute and not to mention it features four of my favorite men (designers, of course!) LOL. I paired it with these super flattering high-waisted jeans. I also have these in black as well, they are my favorite! I decided to switch it up and wear two pairs of shoes for this look (and because I couldn't decide which pair to wear). Plus, I got both of them for an AMAZING deal. I'm a girl that loves to mix high and low-end brands. In the end, it's not where you bought it, it's how you rock it ! All in all, this is the perfect example of dressing up AND down. I hope you enjoy ! :)

Happy Monday !! :) Wishing everyone a productive week.

So this past weekend was so exciting! I finally watched Disney's Maleficent, and it was absolutely amazing. Angelina Jolie embodied Maleficent beautifully; she was meant to play that role. ! I might just have to watch it again in 3-D (;

On Saturday was also superrrrr exciting! I went to the Romeo Santos concert that I have been anticipating for months (I have seen him countless times, but every concert feels like the first LOL ). He honestly knows how to put on a show.....for three hours ! It was heavenly to say the least. :)
