HOW TO: DRESS UP A PAIR OF SHORTS

Wednesday, July 12, 2017

Chic and effortless is the goal around here during Summer time. All this heat just makes me want to be in shorts all day, everyday, and that's exactly the intention of this outfit. lol.
Dressing up shorts is my specialty; during the weekend, I try to wear jeans or dresses here and there, but 9/10 times I end up changing to shorts because they are just a more comfortable option. So here's my take on dressing up a pair of shorts!

I really love these shorts because they are flattering on and high-waisted! They also have a really cute lace detail on both sides..which I thought was a cute touch. I've really been into anything high-waisted because its easier to tuck in your shirts as opposed to the "low rise" styles. So here, I opted for a neon color cami...which is one of my absolute favorites lately! It has a double strap on the back and it is of chiffon material. It'll definitely stay in your closet for a really long time...I'm dying to get it in other colors. If you're usually on the neutral side (which I am most of the time)..color can really make your outfit pop and makes it easier to pair with other accessories as well.

I also wore my super comfy gladiator sandals. I wore these almost everyday last Summer, so I knew I had to include them here. Gladiator sandals is a great shoe trend that will never go out of style in my eyes. Although, they are more of a casual shoe, they still dress up any outfit. And I feel they do look best when worn with shorts (imo!) . If you're not into this type of sandal, these are a great alternative. They are a little more subtle, but still in the same "gladiator" family. :)

Now that you're done with the basics...now its time to accessorize! Here I wore a super girly bell-sleeved duster. I love this piece so much! I'm not sure where I got it (I think I may have thrifted it?!). It goes with almost everything and I love how it added movement to this outfit with the flowy bell sleeves. I also added one of my favorite pieces of jewelry at the moment...this chocker ! I've been wearing it none stop. It looks so pretty on and can really compliment any outfit.

You'll always see me rockin' sunglasses and I love these! They are Betsey Johnson and were about $10 at Marshalls ! :)

Thanks for stopping by :)
Happy Wednesday!
